New Progressive Oklahoma Journal from Red Flag Press

I got a email today from my friend, writer and Oklahoma firebrand extraordinaire, Rachel Jackson:

I have some important news I’d like to share with you. The first issue of the Oklahoma Revelator: A People’s Almanac and Cultural Quarterly is now online at www.oklahomarevelator.com. The Oklahoma Revelator is published jointly by Red Flag Press (owned and operated by Rachel Jackson – www.redflagpress.com) and Mongrel Empire Press (owned & operated by the Mish family: www.mongrelempire.org).

Here is an excerpt from the mission statement for the Oklahoma Revelator:

“The Oklahoma Revelator will honor the platform of issues first articulated by Oklahoma activists of a century ago, both leaders and rank-and-file, through the structure and content of its quarterly publication. This platform includes local concerns and efforts in the areas of labor, peace and justice, indigenous peoples, agriculture, and self-education.”

The Oklahoma Revelator will be published as an on-line quarterly (also available in print and on CD by subscription and at selected vendors). Subscriptions will be set at $2.50 an issue, with two long-term subscriptions offered:

Agitator Subscription: two-year subscription for $15, including the first two 2008 issues free; renewals $15.00.

Rank & File Subscription: $10.00 a year, including the first two issues free; renewals $10.00.

Please take a moment to peruse our (FREE!) first issue at www.oklahomarevelator.com. If you like what you read, consider subscribing, advertising, and/or passing on this email invitation to others you think might be interested in the Oklahoma Revelator. We are also actively soliciting writers, photographers, and distribution personnel. Please contact us at okrevelator@gmail.com for more information.

If you DO NOT wish to receive any more email about the Oklahoma Revelator, please reply to okrevelator@gmail.com with “Remove from Revelator List” as a subject line.

Thank you for taking the time to read this announcement.

Sincerely yours,

Rachel C. Jackson
