In honor of today's celebration of International Human Rights Day, my friend Bill Bryant, who works with the local UN Association in Oklahoma City, sent the following message with links to some important tools for teaching about human rights.

Today, December 10th, is International Human Rights Day. It is a good time to call attention to a new resource for teaching human rights.
This resource will be especially useful if you are a school teacher in the OKC metro area. But, you don't have to be a school teacher. Maybe you're simply interested in a good video resource that you can use for a group discussion or for personal study.

It is the new Human Rights Video Collection from the Oklahoma City chapter of the United Nations Association. And, it is available at no cost to anyone who holds a library card with the Metropolitan Library System.
The videos are professionally produced, and they feature celebrity narrators like Meg Ryan, Richard Gere, Danny Glover, Angelina Jolie, and others. You can preview any of the 10 videos in the collection simply by going to the website: www.una-okc.org/videos. From there, you can easily link to the Metropolitan Library System website where you can place any of the videos on reserve. It's easy! Pick up the video at your local library. No cost. What could be simpler?
