Democrats good day

Well, let's hope this kind of activity in DC becomes a trend: The House Democrats actually showed some spine and stood up for the Constitution today, and blew off the huffing, puffing George W. Bush and all the drama queens on the Republican side of the House.

Then, they passed contempt citations for Harriet Miers and Josh Bolten, who, on Bush's orders, refused to come to Congress to testify about the firing scandal in the DoJ.

And John Conyers has now said he's staying in DC to work on FISA during the weeklong Presidents Day break.

It's hard not to fear they'll cave on these issues, just like they have time and again for the past year, but personally, it's just as hard not to hold out hope this time they'll make it happen.
