The ugliest web site in Oklahoma

I don’t know if this really qualifies as THE ugliest in the entire state, but I think it’s a serious contender in the crowded Government category.

The screen shot below really doesn’t do this inside page of the Canadian County web site justice. All those state flags are waving!

The front page only has two waving flags, which is easier to take, but it also has a message reading “If you are a Netscape use, click here.” I know it’s hard to read because it’s been special effected to within an inch of complete illegibility. But Netscape, people! Apparently this site has not been updated (or probably used) since 1998.

If you think you can top that for an ugly website made in OK, bring it on! I’ll even try to round up some prizes, like, I dunno, professional help (I ain’t saying what kind, could be therapy, could be an eye exam, could be a real “webmaster”).

Wow, that’s sad. One interesting thing is that, apparently only Netscape users care about how to get in touch with them, or what the terror alert level is. And beyond that, once you get off the front page, they don’t care whether you are using Netscape or, well, I don’t know…NCSA Mosaic? 🙂
