Join Gold Star fathers at anti-war demo during Bloomberg/Boren "bipartisan forum"

[I have posted this story at Blue Oklahoma, OKIMC, and Daily Kos. Any additional publicity on blogs or otherwise would be welcomed.]

Background: OU President (and former OK Democratic Senator) David Boren is hosting a political forum on Monday, 1/7 in Norman which will include Michael Bloomberg, (former Democrat, former Republican, now Independent) mayor of New York City, former Georgia Senator Sam Nunn and other retired politicians. The stated purpose is to promote a centrist, bipartisan political movement. The suspected purpose is to stroke the presidential ambitions of billionaire Bloomberg.

Two Oklahoma Gold Star fathers are organizing an anti-war demonstration to take place outside this meeting. Tons of national — even international — press will be on hand for this event, and we need to make a good showing for the world.

Please attend and spread the word about this action to anyone else who might be in the area.

The details are below, as contained in an email I received. (Note: I am not an organizer of this event, just helping to publicize it.)

What: Demonstration to End The War and Bring The Troops Home.

Where: OU Campus, Norman, OK – Outside of Catlett Music Center – at Elm & Boyd.

When: Demonstration begins at 10A – 11A
(Bloomberg event 11A – Noon)

Warren Henthorn and John Scripsick are going to lead a demonstration outside of the Bloomberg Bipartisan Forum on Monday, January 7 beginning at 10:00 AM at CATLETT MUSIC CENTER on the OU Campus (corner of Elm and Boyd.)

The purpose of the event is not to demonstrate Bloomberg or the other panelists, per se,but to call to
END THE WAR AND TO BRING THE TROOPS HOME
