The Case for an International System of Justice

Late last night I caught a speech on C-Span by the director of the MacArthur Foundation, the world's largest which addressed international justice in general, and the International Criminal Court in particular.

He spoke at the National Press Club and announced the first annual award of the MacArthur Award for International Justice (to former UN General Secretary, Kofi Annan).

He called on the US to join the ICC, and also challenged the candidates for president to come out in support of the ICC. In the Q & A, he said that Clinton and Obama were both “aware” of the ICC issue (whatever that means, though he said it approvingly, as far as I could tell).
