Yesterday, Oklahoma City voters overwhelmingly approved a multi-million dollar bond issue for street improvements, sidewalks, parks, drainage, etc. A lively discussion about the wisdom of some of these projects ensued in the comments under the story at NewsOK.com.

The old Mid-City Advocate newspaper has been revamped and renamed and is now the City Sentinel. Their web site looks very stylish, but the links to the sections for blogs, event calendar and forums lead to empty pages. They are posting some news articles from the dead-tree version of the paper, which is an improvement on the old MC Advocate site, which was basically just a subscription flyer, and a poor one at that. The new site uses Joomla CMS software, which, in terms of features, may be a little bit of overkill for Sentinel content. But perhaps they'll eventually develop it out. Good work so far!
And from an article at City Sentinel, I learned of site to help Oklahoma City artists network, showcase and sell their work. Sonarta.com launched in March, but it's new to me, and maybe to my readers (all one of you!)
